Disguise a Bad Haircut

It can happen to anyone. Here's how to cope.
There's no need to cover your head with a scarf -- or don a paper bag
-- if your mop gets cropped the wrong way. Experts suggest these tricks
to transform a disappointing do:
-
Bangs too short? Go even shorter, says David Daines, a hairstylist at
Gil Ferrer Salon, in New York City . Snip bangs into pixie-like spikes
and use gel to accentuate the pointy look.
-
Does your short style give you the shivers? Apply pomade or
extra-strength gel to wet hair and blow-dry from beneath to add volume.
"Tousle your hair with your fingers to change the profile of the cut,"
says Daines.
- If that classic
bob makes you look like a blockhead, get out your hot rollers or
curling iron."Put some motion into the style," says Mark Garrison,
owner of Mark Garrison Salon, in New York City . Curl hair under, then
finger-comb for a lively, curlier look.
