Hair tools you will need:

  1. Comb
  2. Professional clipper
  3. Thinning shear
  4. Thin taper comb
  1. Back: Start with #3 attachment at bottom back neckline.
Note: Keep hair damp for easier cutting and control.
  2. Keep #3 attachment close to head all the way up to crown.
Note: Finish with attachments straight up (toward ceiling).
  3. Keep #2 attachment close to head one inch below #3 attachment.
Note: Cut form long down to short hair.
  4. Keep #1 attachment close to head one inch below #2 attachment, use regular clipper blade one inch below #1 attachment.
  1. Finish back: 3-2-1 faded neckline.
Note: Line across bottom is optional.
  2. Sides: use #3 attachment up to parietal ridge. Finish toward ceiling.
  3. Use #2 attachment close to head one inch blow #3 attachment.
  4. Use #1 attachment one inch below #2 attachment.
  1. Use regular clipper blade one inch below #1 attachment.
Note: in clipper has side lever, you may use blades open, then closed on bottom.
  2. Use clipper-over-comb technique to cut straight wall up each side.
  3. Use clipper-over-comb technique to cut crown short.
Note: Some guys prefer a squared-up crown.
  4. Top: brush hair up and back. Cut guide across front with comb flat on base.
Note: The front 9one to two inches) is longest part of flattop.
  1. Cut front to back, each cut is width of comb.
Note: Stay at same level with each cut.
  2. Cut flat strop down middle of head. Then use wax product to brush sides straight up.
  3. Use clipper-over-comb technique to flatten corners.
  4. Smoothly run clippers across top to cut any extra hairs.
Note: Brace clippers to hold them steady.
  1. To polish whole haircut: remove any clipper lines or dark spots with thinning shears and thin taper comb.
  2. With finishing clippers trim sideburns, around ears and back neckline.
Finishing note: the difficulty of the flattop cut is putting a square on an oval. So, think box.

This style can be found in Technical Volume 37!

I am a woman of over thirty. I never liked to follow any fashion. That is crazy. Everybody all of a sudden the same look.
I am an induvidual and like to state that.
So with the new punk styles I see shaved women, halfshaved women, etc
They dare to shw theit independence !
I went to renowned barbr shp last Decenber and had e man cut my hair into a great flattop. Also called brushcut or boxcut. All are a little different but all are derived from the old crewcut.
Just a little goo to keep my hair staight up and I get all the stares!
I think I look sharp and non trendy.
I have it touched up every two or three weeks.
Erica
Any comments, let me have it.

They could have texturized the sides and blended it a lot better! Its too 90's sorry people this cut should only be in for people that are in the army or that live in bfe aka rednecks! lol But yes it is a great cut if you go to great clips or some lesser wack shack aka $10 hair cut! Now if you went to toni and guy or aveda or some nicer higher end salon they would make this cut look like it should!

THIS HAIRCUT IS NOT FROM THE 70'S. A CLASSIC CHOICE, IT IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. BUT NEITHER IS AN AFRO, OR A BOB, OR ANY OTHER HAIRCUT. IT LOOKS GOOD ON CERTAIN FACE TYPES. I HAVE PICTURES FROM AROUND 1955-1965 FROM RELATIVES THAT HAD IT. I JUST GAVE MY SON ONE, IT IS HARD TO PERFECT. BUT I PLAN ON TAKING HIS PICTURE WITH A WHITE T-SHIRT AND JEANS, IN BLACK AND WHITE TO SHARE WITH THEM. I AM SURE IT WILL MAKE THEM SMILE. MY RELATIVES READ BOOKS AND ARE NOT RACIST. THEY HAVE DIFFERENT TASTES THAN EVERYONE ELSE, JUST LIKE YOU.

The haircut SUCKS. Especially with the goatee-thingy... that pubic on his chin.
Anyway, this page gave us the best laugh ever! xD Hillarious comments.

First off, the name of the cut is wrong, its actually called the Box Cut.    All edges are saved during the cut.

Regardless Of What These Fools Say, This Cut Is Hot.. The Fade In On Point.

These Dude Looked Like A Fag Before The Cut.. Now He Like A Stra8 Male.. Lmfao.

Only Thing Is He's Tape Needs To Be Done. Side Burns Need To Be Made To a Point..
