Four Layered Hair Cutting Styles That Work for Day and Night
Posted by: jowindso38834 on Thu, Apr 13th, 2006

With hair dried out by the summer sun, fall is the perfect time to cut off damaged hair and go for a new look. These four new styles are perfect for fall. Each is versatile, and they can take you from polished elegance, to everyday casual, to messy and funky, depending on how you style them.

Layered Shag

- Layered shag with long, angled bangs

How to style: Using a volumizing mousse, style with a round brush or big rollers to get some volume and movement. For a funky look, tease and set with hairspray. Finish with spray wax.

Curly Layers

- Long, curly layered style

How to style: For a naturally curly look, run some gel and styling creme throughout hair and diffuse. Don't touch until hair is completely dry. For more defined curls, run mousse throughout hair and dry. With a 3/4-inch-barrel curling iron, define pieces throughout hair, then finger-tousle.

Layered Bob

- Layered bob

How to style: For a smoother look, dry hair with a flat brush and straightening serum. To achieve a look with more volume and movement, take 1-inch sections, spray with some spray gel, set with big Velcro rollers or a large-barrel curling iron until dry, and shake out.

- Short, boyish-yet-feminine crop

How to style: For a smooth look, define with pomade or wax. For a more voluminous look, use a spray gel to get lift at the roots and control ends with a round brush. Define with wax.

How to Get the Liv Tyler's Layered Bangs Hairstyle
Do you want to get your bangs cut swoosh to the side like Liv Tyler's layered hairstyle? As we see in this picture, Liv Tyler's hair is curling ironed, and pulled up half way with some volumizing mist (to give it bounce and shine). She also has thick hair for this to be pulled off.

A Quick Layered Haircut
It takes time, money, and talent to have your hair cut. To save any of these a little, just using an easy technique can give you a quick-layered haircut. This technique can be used on both long and short hair. By short we are speaking about shoulder length or shorter. Long hair would be considered anything longer than that.
