How To Get A 360 Waves
» from Anonymous on Jul '08 | 8 replies.

360 waves hairstyle is a classic short hairstyle that wear by African American men today, when the hair is cut very short and brushed often, a natural looking pattern of waves form around the perimeter of the head pretty much in a 360 degree angle. This is why we called 360 Waves.

The curls/coils in your hair are the key to getting waves. If your hair is straight the you will not get waves because a wave is a straightened out curl. The curlier (or nappy) your hair is, the more waves you will have in your hair. Deep waves comes from letting your hair grow. Everyone’s waves will not look the same, it depends on your hair type.

Some people have different textures throughout their head, therefore your waves may have a slightly different look or may not be totally the same. Though it may not be noticeable.
Pomade is not what develops waves. So if you don’t use it, it doesn’t matter. Pomade is used to help hold down your hair and help define them, but it isn’t necessary for the process.

Use pomade before your brush/du rag
Brush hair at most 1/1 ½ hours daily
Clean hair at least every other day to keep hair healthy
Brush hair in shower to make them more uniform
Wear du rag when not busy and to bed.
Spray du rag with water or moisturizer while wearing.
Get a hair cut every 2-4 weeks to make them deeper
While hair is long, comb hair as well as brush (hard brush)

Brushing: When brushing your hair start from the center of your head and brush out in every direction towards your lining. Example: From the crown to your forehead, crown to your left temple, etc. From your crown it should make a circle.

Pomade: Pomade is not what makes waves so if you don’t use it, it doesn’t matter. Pomade is used to help hold down your hair and help define them, but it isn’t necessary for the process. Either place a fingertip of pomade into your hand and rub it until it softens, place it in a sink of hot water until it melts, or melt it with a blow drier, then apply it evenly into your hair. Thoroughly rub it into your hair with your palm. If the pomade isn’t melted, take a hot towel and place it on your head to melt the grease, or you can use a blow drier. After you apply the pomade brush it into your hair.

Moisturizing: Use pink lotion or Scurl Moisturizer to keep your hair from drying out. Whenever you think you need it throughout the day.

Ice Pomade: Use this pomade sparingly (going out, etc.), it is possible that it will damage or irritate the skin near your lining.

Water technique: While you are brushing, spray your hair with water and brush it dry. Keep repeating this until you’re finished brushing.

firstly you need a duu rag a soft brush for a short hair and a hard brush for a bit ling hair
fistly brush the front of the head forwards and the sides from the center of the head downwords and then the back staight back and then put any greasey hair cream on the head in the direction you brushed your hair and then put your duu rag on. it might take weeks like mine took about 18 days before i could see waves at the sides of my head

Here is the deal! It is not hard to get healthy and managable 360 waves.

1. The perfect cut to get started waving is a light ceaser or all even.

2. Wash hair with either a shampoo and conditioner combined or seprate materials.

3.Blot hair partially dry.( leave enough dampness for pomade to soften.

4. Apply pomade--- (My personal favoirite is Sportin waves)

5. Brush--Brush -- Brush-- Brush. I always keep my brush with me at all times to make sure that I keep the waves tight. (Start with a medium brush so that you won't scalp yourself.

6. Apply moisturizer--- Pink lotion or Olive oil etc...

7. Brush-- Brush -- Brush

8. Place both stocking cap and du-rag on head for the rest of the evening.

Waves don't happen over night! It takes patients and training. When you brush your hair go with the grain not against it. (Be sure that the Barber cuts your hair wtg.)wait at least three weeks from first haircut until your next one. Keep brushing until something happens.

Peace....

this is what i do. i use blue magic grease in the morning brush that in about 65 reps per side. brush the top straight down. brush the back straight down. and the sides at a 45 degree angle down towards your temple. i do this once again in the afternoon. then at night i but the blue magic in my hair then add some 360 wavy style pomade in my hair and brush each side about 65-100 times per side depends on my mood that night. then i put on a wave cap with the seam on the outside then i put my du rag on the same way with the seam out. i wash my hair about 2 times a weak. i get my hair but once a month. i almost forgot i use a finger scoop of blue magic because a little bit goes a long way and plus it's kind of greasy. then with my 360 wave pomade i use for finger scoops to get each side of my head. I am in the military so i can't always wear my durag or wave cap. but if your not in the military. i would do my steps every day and keep that wave cap and durag on to keep that hair layed down. You ask how long it takes? well me personally i am black and i don't have that nappy blk hair that waves in like 2wks i go that good straight hair. so no lie it took me about 1 month of staight brushing to see anywaves in on the top of my head. now it's been about 2 months and my top of my head is covered with waves there are going everywhere on my head but they aren't connected smoothly like they should. because i keep using a hard brush. i am gonna use that hard brush until i get that 360 wave pattern then i am going to put in heavy heavy reps with my soft brush to get them all connected. so i would say it takes about 4-6 months to get a complete tight spinning 360. if you have any questions email me larry.kimmons@san-antonio.usmc.mil

so right now i am fighting the sides and the back to come in right now probably. so i would say like another 3 months my waves should be pretty nasty. also i started from a bald head so yours might be a little faster if you already have alot of hair. But keep brushing you can never brush to much. when you brush so much your arm cramps up that's good switch hands and let the other arm cramp up. so at least your other arm should be ready to go again. get them waves
