EMO HAIR - the discussion
Hey friends. Does anyone know how to I suppose "make" or style emo hair? I'm dislike emo music with a passion but I really like the hairstyle. Okay, so my hair is thick and doesn't have any curls at all and when it grows, it grows outward and makes my hair look like a bush. so I keep it short all the time and that’s a problem because I heard you have to grow your hair long in order for it to look emo so can someone please help me? Thanks fellas.
"emo" hair is not a real style... basically let your hair get long... like down to your nose or so, then go somewhere and tell them that you want to look EMO, even though Indie and Hipster kids look the same (kinda just messy hair) most people like to call it Emo... Although Emo kids do everything from short buzzed hair all the way up to long locks with highlights in heir face... I say just do your hair how you like it... if you don't like the music why would you want to look like the people that play/enjoy it? seems pretty illogical to me, but it's your life.
Dye it jet black.
Dye it blond in the back.
Gel the front of your hair downwards.
Then take the back/blond part and spike it.
It looks like you're going to have to find a way to make your hair thinner/easier to style. Most emo hair tends to just fall straight down, not really sticking out. I've got me some emo-type hair, so I guess I should know.

if you want a emo hairstlye dye your hair black then ask for a hairdresser or someone who can cut hair to give you a side fringe and lots of layers and getting your hair thinned. after that Grab a comb and scrap it up and down to tease your hair but makesure you use Tre' Semme professional hair gel or spray to hold it up for anymore questions my email is gorguzz_170@hotmail.com thankyouu xoxo

Alrighty all of you that think "emo" is sooo cool!
i did my "emo cut", not because of others or because i wanted to give myself a name; its the total opposite! i made my hair "emo" because it felt right to me, i wanted to do SOMETHING to my hair ( I! I did the cut to MY hair), and because i was sick ! SICK OF THE STUPID ATTENTION i got with my old hair! in no place in my mind did i do this for attention !!! THATS WHAT "EMO" IS ! ATTENTION! IF YOU DONT WANT THAT NAME dont look for it! and if you keep to yourself, and people still call you emo; THEY WANT ATTENTION! "HEHE, you called out the emo kid!" hahaha! your just a dumb****cuz you wish that you "belonged" to something! (btw emo= being expressive and different) GIVING YOURSELF A NAME IS BITTING AND UNORGINALITY!!! JESUS ! .... and hey if you want to accept a name (emo), your a hypocrite because being emo ,better said, emotional, then you dont want a label because , emotions are different than the rest, are labels mean your pin pointing what you are. You just cant do that, useless your just stupid...

so to the poster:theres many different versions of the said 'emo' hairstyle. 'emo' is pretty versatile. theres the long with LOTS and lots of layers which they normally tease. Theres the long in the front and short in the back which they spike. Then theres just regular hair with simply side bangs. most of the cuts have side bangs. To the ****holes trying to pick a fight with people they dont know:labels are only bad if you take it the wrong way. I dress however the hell I want. I've gotten prep, eighties, emo, goth, punk, hippies etc. etc. I've heared everything except maybe gangster. I dont find any of these offensive so why the hell would you? Emo=emotional. EVERY HUMAN BEING ON THE ****ING PLANET HAS EMOTIONS. No matter what they dress like. the way someone dresses cannot tell you who they are. You might be able to know what band they like or a beleif of theirs. But in seventh I wore ALL black and I was hyper-est happiest person in the school. I was extremely social and in no way acted emo or goth. It was just the way i liked to dress. 'Poser' is a word people call each other because they think they dont dress the way they are, or they're trying to be something they aren't. People EVERYWHERE are trying their version of "bettering" themselves. so everyones a poser? and how the HELL would you know if someones a poser? you sure as hell dont know what they think and if they act the same way. So to everyone bagging on someone you dont know just because they called something emo. speaking of which what the hell else should you call it?

god this is stupid. Listen, people shouldn't call each other emo or prep or anything. But to all those "Emo's" who call other people who like the style and want to adapt it, "posers" are being total hypocrites!! You don't want to be labelled but your labelling people by calling them poser's! And when people make fun of you, you get "depressed". No, it just makes you feel bad. But by calling people posers, your probably making them feel just as bad as you do when other people talk s**t about you! Personally, the emo, scene, whatever, I like them! It's very hip and very now, the hair,I love it! So kudos to all of you! See you got your reconginition so getover yourselfs, others who label other people for no f***ing reason, this message ALSO applies to YOU.

ok, "emo" isnt a real word! people call me emo all the time and i don't understand! please stop it!i just wish that all of these posers would stop. call it something else. not "the emo cut". this page pissed me off so much. 1. STOP LABELING OTHERS AND YOURSELF 2. quit bagging on others 3. if you realy want tht kind of hair, the best thing to do is do it yourself. not follow others. i cut my OWN hair. and it look perfectly fine without all that teasing and what-not. its just black. and its natural. AND YOU!!! YES YOU! THE GIRL WHO WROTE THE THING ON THE TOP; just straighten you hair and you might not want to layer it. INSTEAD, just feather the ends. 1.Take the ends of your hair and just cut it vertcally at an angle. get what im saying? not too high. just cut it vertically at one inch of length, that should thin it out. OR you could get a razor (for shaving) and shave some of the ends of your hair down. 2. when straightening your bangs, keep it at half heat. then as you get to the rest of your hair, put up the heat. 3. an oil treatment might help. or egg yolk bath for your hair. 4. MOST IMPORTANT ***DON'T LABEL***

Heres a question, how is scene being a poser, no one is born a ****in emo? so you people cant say ****, all emo is, is a label, theres no such thing as oh u have deeper emotions ur an emo, no it means u have a head problem get it checked out...so u get that big dick outta ur ****and shut the **** up

why do you call your selfs emo? i have nothing against the scene, but why dont you see yourselfs as Individuals.. i hate it when people think there punk cause they live a certian way or emo cause they dress in black and get cool hair cuts... im cutting my hair "emo" yet im not emo, im me.. i listen to all the same music.. yet i dont lable myself as anything... yeah emo or punk is a way of life, but it doesnt mean you have to lable yourself it... eb yourself and the rest will follow...

K wow, everyone here is ****en stupid emo is none of the above it is a label, as said by someone previously, i hate the ****en stereotyipical thing that all emos are cutters, depressed, bi-sexuals, and there are others.
Nowa days emo is just plain ol' style, because people think it looks cool, u dont turn emo cause ur depressed, most people do cause they think it looks cool, i have the style of what "people think emo looks like" but not all that stereotypical bull****" I wear tight pants, i have the "supposed" emo hair, all it is nowa days is a look theres, nothing being related ot the past or anything. Maybe before but not now, it is only a look now.
